Job summary

GEICO is seeking an experienced infrastructure automation engineer to accelerate our tech transformation. You will build and maintain automation for our private cloud, focusing on OS and firmware update strategies, testing, and fleet management across hardware fleets.

You will craft tools using Python, Go, and Rust, and leverage IaC with Ansible and Terraform to streamline operations. Collaboration with OpenStack and Hybrid Cloud teams is essential, along with strong hardware management

Qualifications

• Experience developing automation for private cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with OS and firmware management in private cloud environments.
• Familiarity with OpenStack and server fleet management, automation practices.

Responsibilities

• Drive automation of OS and firmware update strategies to ensure testing, stability, performance, and remote management.
• Develop tools for automated testing of servers and OS images.
• Monitor server fleet health and performance, focusing on upgrades and proactive maintenance.
• Collaborate with OpenStack, Storage, and Hybrid Cloud teams to understand automation needs and impact of updates.
