Job summary

GEICO is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Automation Engineer to join our Tools team to drive our tech transformation from a traditional IT model to one focused on engineering excellence, good code and documentation hygiene, and automation-driven architectures. You will work on automated tools for our OpenStack private cloud, network, and hardware fleet within a private enterprise environment.

You will develop automation scripts in Python/Go/Rust, apply IaC using Ansible and Terraform, and

Qualifications

• Proficient development in Python/Go/Rust/C.
• Experience with IaC tools (Ansible, Terraform) in private clouds.
• Hands-on OS and firmware management in private cloud.
• Experience with Redfish, BMC, IPMI for remote server control.
• Familiar with OpenStack and server fleet management.
• Experience with Grafana/Prometheus/Loki for logging & dashboards.
• Strong problem-solving and integration attention.
• Industry certifications in hardware/firmware are a bonus.
• Understanding of Active Directory, SAML, OAuth.

Responsibilities

• Drive automation tooling for server fleet and OS updates.
• Develop tests for servers and OS images.
• Monitor fleet health and plan upgrades.
• Collaborate with OpenStack, Storage, and Hybrid Cloud teams.
• Craft automation scripts in Python/Go/Rust.
