Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal is seeking an Infrastructure Architect to lead large-scale modernization across enterprise infrastructure and cloud readiness for complex environments. You will drive architecture transformation, create modernization roadmaps, and align them with clients’ cloud migration plans, using IaC and automation to accelerate delivery.

You will collaborate across security, operations, and business teams, leveraging AI-assisted tools to improve analysis and optimization.

Qualifications

8-12+ years of professional experience in infrastructure architecture for complex, large enterprises, with consulting or advisory delivery.
Demonstrated experience leading infrastructure modernization, cloud migration, or large-scale transformation programs.
Federal infrastructure environment experience preferred; deep modernization in regulated industries can substitute.
Bachelor's degree required; cloud certifications strongly preferred.
Willingness to travel up to 80%.

Responsibilities

Lead infrastructure assessment and baseline analysis, topology mapping, capacity utilization, and cost modeling.
Design modernized target infrastructure architectures (cloud-native, hybrid, or optimized on-premises).
Assess cloud readiness and develop phased migration strategy with sequencing logic.
Develop IaC implementation roadmaps to reduce manual toil and speed deployments.
Evaluate dependencies between modernization, refactoring, and broader digital transformation initiatives.
Integrate findings into A&M's engagement scope and deliverables.
Support practice development through training and content creation.
