Job summary

Sinclair Community College is seeking an Information Technology Technician (Off-Campus) to support over 1,200 off-campus workstations and campus devices. You will install, maintain, and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network components across multiple sites, and help image servers and manage hardware inventory.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in CS or related field required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience supporting a large multi-user environment.
• Batch, PowerShell and VB Script knowledge required.
• Must pass a Prison Contractor background check.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and meet Sinclair’s insurance requirements.
• Strong electronics, basic networking, and analytical troubleshooting preferred.
• Ability to adapt to changing environment to meet customer needs.

Position Summary

The IT Technician position supports 1,207 computers used byfaculty, staff and students at all off campus locations and 6,307computers on-campus when schedule permits. This includesinstallation, maintenance and support of all hardware, software,and infrastructure necessary for faculty, staff and students tocomplete their work.

The salary for this position begins at $47,087.00 and iscommensurate with education and experience.

Principal Accountabilities

Emergency Technician

• This position takes care of all off campus emergencytickets

PCs and Laptops

• Configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting notebooks andPC’s to function on and off our SCC -NT network

Maintain Off Campus Imaging Server/s

• • Build and distribute images for all locations that do not usethe Sinclair image
  • Writing and editing PowerShell, VB scripts and batch

Spare Parts Inventory

• • Participate in maintaining the spare parts inventory throughnotifying immediate supervisor of parts needed and the purchase ofspecialized parts for individual customers

Hardware

• Installing, configuring, networking, troubleshooting, andmaintaining

Requirements

• Minimum of an associate’s degree in computer science or arelated field required
• Minimum of 1 year of experience supporting a large multi-userenvironment required
• In-depth technical knowledge and understanding of variousoperating systems, software and computer hardware required
• Batch, PowerShell and VB Script knowledge required
• Must be able to pass a Prison Contractor background check
• Must have a valid driver’s license and meet Sinclair’sinsurance requirements
• Thorough understanding of electronics, basic networking, andanalytical troubleshooting strongly preferred
• Ability to resolve problems and complete tasks in a timelymanner required
• Ability to adapt to the continuously changing environment andchallenges relative to this position to meet the customer’s needsrequired
