Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and to lift 20 lbs overhead.
• Ability to install and relocate equipment in tight spaces.

Position Summary

The Sinclair Information Technology Division is currently seeking an individual to fill a part-time, 28 hour per week, Multimedia Technician. The major responsibility of this position is to provide multimedia technical support and installation of equipment for Sinclair campuses. Providing in person technical support during events and interactive learning classes is also a major responsibility for this position. The daily operation of the campus is dependent upon the customer service skills and technical knowledge of this employee.

The hourly pay rate for this position is $23.84 and has a maximum of 28 hours per week. We are seeking to fill several positions for this role.

Principal Accountabilities

• Provide audio-visual equipment setup and technical support for academic and non-academic events
• Support online conferencing platforms (e.g. Zoom, Microsoft Teams, WebEx) to ensure smooth and efficient operations
• Responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting the audio-visual and video conferencing systems for the College and for the Corporate Conference Center.
• Provide technical support for classroom multimedia including but not limited to:
  • A/V control equipment and user interfaces (e.g. Crestron/Extron)
  • A/V routers, switchers, mixers, amplification devices, video converters, video projectors, video monitors, VCR , DVD , Documents camera, and video cameras
  • Equipment configuration and integration into existing systems and networks
  • Videoconferencing equipment such as cameras, microphones, and A/V cable interfaces
• Accurate documentation, within various software and database packages, of work request details and job completion and/or outcome information and hardware inventory
• Neat, professional appearance, dependability, honesty, customer service attitude and follow through of work directives
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree in a related technical field preferred
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in A/V or related field required
• Knowledge and understanding of sophisticated computer controlled routing systems, audio-visual computer systems, and their functions/interoperability required
• Ability to troubleshoot problems and develop rapid solutions required
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. required
• Ability to lift 20 lbs. overhead required
• Ability to climb ladders and stairs required
• Ability to install and relocate equipment both overhead and at ground level and in tight spaces to include securing cables and other related tasks required
