The Sinclair Community College information technology department at the Courseview campus in Mason, OH is seeking part-time adjunct faculty for day, evening, online and weekend courses. The starting pay is $1,016 per credit hour assigned to teach.

Open only to residents of OH, IN, or KY or those able to work in one of these states. SCC restricts part-time employment to approved states for compliance purposes.

Qualifications

• Evaluate and return student work promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress.
• Submit final grade rosters by deadlines.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information.
• Adhere to a 12-credit-hour maximum per semester.

Principal Accountabilities

• Adjunct faculty teach curriculum developed by thedepartment

• Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, useavailable instructional technology when appropriate
• Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategiesto meet diverse students’ needs
• Support classroom and online efforts to promote studentsuccess
• Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promotelearning
• Maintain accurate records of student progress
• Submit final grade rosters according to establisheddeadlines
• Maintain confidentiality of student information
• Adjunct Faculty cannot be assigned to teach more than themaximum of 12 credit hours per semester

Requirements

• Minimum of a master’s degree in computer information systemsrequired, OR an associate’s degree in the content, AND minimum of awidely accepted credential or certification generally recognized inthe industry required
• Evidence of successful prior teaching experience ispreferred
• Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning throughinnovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the courseand program level
• Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills withthe capacity to work successfully in a culturally diverse collegecommunity
• Must possess demonstrated skills in using modern educationaltechnology, including multimedia-based instruction
