Job summary

Sinclair Community College’s Hospitality Management department invites applications for Culinary, Pastry, Baking Arts - Part-Time Adjunct Faculty at the Main Campus in Dayton, OH.

Adjunct faculty teach curricula developed by the department; starting pay is $1,016 per credit hour assigned to teach. This position requires Ohio residency or ability to work in OH, IN, or KY.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of an associate’s degree in the content area or related field and three years of work experience in the field required; a master’s degree in the content area preferred.
  • Evidence of successful prior teaching experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the course and program level.
  • Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills with the capacity to work successfully in a culturally diverse college community.
  • Must possess demonstrated skills in using modern educational technology, including multimedia-based instruction.

Responsibilities

  • Teach curriculum developed by the department
  • Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize student learning
  • Prepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with department and divisional policies
  • Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, use available instructional technology when appropriate
  • Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse students’ needs
  • Support classroom and online efforts to promote student success
  • Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promote learning
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress
  • Submit final grade rosters according to established deadlines
  • Maintain confidentiality of student information
  • Adjunct Faculty cannot be assigned to teach more than the maximum of 12 credit hours per semester

Position Summary

The Sinclair Culinary Arts program provides the basic knowledgea student needs to develop into a certified chef.

The starting pay for Adjunct Faculty is $1,016 per credit hourassigned to teach. We are looking to fill this roleimmediately. For the full list of available courses to teach,please explore ourcoursecatalog .

This position is open only to applicants who residein Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky, or who are able to perform workwithin one of these states. Sinclair Community College restrictspart-time employment to approved states due to employment, tax, andbenefits compliance requirements.
