Position Summary
The Sinclair Culinary Arts program provides the basic knowledgea student needs to develop into a certified chef.
The starting pay for Adjunct Faculty is $1,016 per credit hourassigned to teach. We are looking to fill this roleimmediately. For the full list of available courses to teach,please explore ourcoursecatalog .
This position is open only to applicants who residein Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky, or who are able to perform workwithin one of these states. Sinclair Community College restrictspart-time employment to approved states due to employment, tax, andbenefits compliance requirements.

Principal Accountabilities
- Adjunct faculty teach curriculum developed by thedepartment
- Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize studentlearning
- Prepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections inaccordance with department and divisional policies
- Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, useavailable instructional technology when appropriate
- Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategiesto meet diverse students’ needs
- Support classroom and online efforts to promote studentsuccess
- Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promotelearning
- Maintain accurate records of student progress
- Submit final grade rosters according to establisheddeadlines
- Maintain confidentiality of student information
- Adjunct Faculty cannot be assigned to teach more than themaximum of 12 credit hours per semester
Requirements
- Minimum of an associate’s degree in the content area or relatedfield AND three years of work experience in the field required; ora master’s degree in the content area preferred
- Evidence of successful prior teaching experience ispreferred
- Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning throughinnovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the courseand program level
- Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills withthe capacity to work successfully in a culturally diverse collegecommunity
- Must possess demonstrated skills in using modern educationaltechnology, including multimedia-based instruction
