Sinclair Community College is seeking part-time (adjunct) faculty to teach face-to-face courses at the downtown Dayton campus, including day, evening, and weekend options. Starting pay is $1,046 per credit hour assigned. Applicants must reside in OH, IN, or KY or be able to work in those states.

This is a part-time, adjunct faculty position with multiple campus locations. The department emphasizes student-centered learning, with opportunities for professional development, mentoring, and STRS

Qualifications

Master’s degree in mathematics or statistics or 18 graduate hours in math/stat required.
Evidence of successful prior teaching experience preferred.

Position Summary

The Sinclair Mathematics Department offers an associatedegree program emphasizing the field. The department iscurrently seeking part-time (adjunct) faculty to teach face-to-facefor day, evening, and weekend courses at our downtown Daytoncampus.

This position is open only to applicants who reside in Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky, or who are able to perform work within one of these states. Sinclair Community College restrictspart-time employment to approved states due to employment, tax, andbenefits compliance requirements.

Principal Accountabilities

Adjunct faculty teach curriculum developed by thedepartment
Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize studentlearning
Prepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections inaccordance with department and divisional policies
Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, useavailable instructional technology when appropriate
Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategiesto meet diverse student’s needs
Support classroom and online efforts to promote studentsuccess
Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promotelearning
Maintain accurate records of student progress
Submit final grade rosters according to establisheddeadlines
Maintain confidentiality of student information
Adjunct Faculty cannot be assigned to teach more than themaximum of 12 credit hours per semester

Requirements

Minimum of a master’s degree in mathematics or statistics, or amaster’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in mathematics orstatistics required
Evidence of successful prior teaching experience preferred
Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning throughinnovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the courseand program level
Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills withthe capacity to work successfully in a culturally diverse collegecommunity
Must possess demonstrated skills in using modern educationaltechnology, including multimedia-based instruction
