Job summary

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking an enthusiastic Information Systems Security Engineer to join our team. The role focuses on providing cybersecurity engineering across engineering and operations networks in support of DoD/IC requirements.

The ISSE will integrate security controls, support RMF and A&A activities, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure systems remain compliant, secure, and mission-ready throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Requires TS/SCI clearance.
• 5+ years of IA/cybersecurity engineering experience in DoD/IC environments.
• Strong RMF knowledge and NSE guidance familiarity (NIST SP 800-53, 800-37, 800-39).
• Experience preparing SSPs, SAPs, SARs, and POA&Ms.

Responsibilities

• Provide cybersecurity engineering support for engineering and operational network solutions.
• Ensure compliance with IA and cybersecurity requirements per ICD 503 and RMF.
• Support A&A documentation, artifacts, and procedures.
• Engineer and implement security controls per NIST SP 800-53.
• Participate in system categorization, control selection, and continuous monitoring.
• Interface with IA team members, ISSOs/ISSMs, and government security representatives.
• Support certification and accreditation activities under ICD 503.
• Ensure security is integrated into design, deployment, and operations.
• Maintain cybersecurity training for assigned systems.
• Provide guidance on risk and mitigation strategies.
• Experience supporting IC systems.
• Familiarity with multi-domain security environments.
• Operate effectively in high-compliance, mission-critical environments.
