University of Utah seeks an Information Systems Architect to design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure and information systems supporting UAIR operations on campus. The role collaborates with developers, engineers, and UIT to align roadmaps, ensure secure access, and enable scalable data workflows.
Primary responsibilities include AWS cloud design, VPC management, ETL deployment, and ensuring high availability and security across on‑premises and cloud resources.
Design, implement, and maintain the organization's informationsystems and IT infrastructure. Provide an architectural frameworkfor information system development, maintenance, and enhancementefforts. Understand user and process requirements and ensure thoserequirements can be achieved through high quality deliverables.Work closely with developers and engineers to develop road maps forapplications, align development plans, and to ensure effectiveintegration among information systems and the IT infrastructure.Monitor technological advancements to ensure that solutions arecontinuously improved, supported, and aligned with industry andcompany standards as well as emerging business requirements.Understand the interactions between systems, applications, andservices within the environment, and evaluate the impact of changesor additions. Analyze systems and perform usability testing toensure performance and reliability, enhance scalability, and meetsecurity requirements.
