Information Support Services & Networking Teacher Chapter 74

Starting Date: Aug 31, 2026

SUMMARY: The ISSN - Information Support Services & Networking Teacher will start a NEW ISSN Program. The teacher is responsible for planning, developing and implementing a comprehensive Chapter 74 ISSN Program for high school students in grades 9–12. Students who graduate should have knowledge of the curriculum frameworks and technical competencies needed to be successful in the workplace or in continued studies. In this inaugural year, the teacher will work full time, using the first semester (Sept.–Jan.) to build the curriculum and the program alongside the CTE Director. Direct student instruction will begin January 2027.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate or higher degree related to the subject matter and skills to be taught.
  • Four years of recent full‑time employment experience directly related to ISSN – Information Support Services & Networking within the last seven years.
  • Passing score on each test (written, performance) for ISSN.
  • Passing score on the Vocational Technical Literacy Skills Test or the Communication and Literacy Skills Test.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior teaching experience preferred.
  • Ability to work with students, staff, administrators, parents and the public in creating an atmosphere where individuals feel welcome and respected.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Competency in software related to ISSN.
  • Competency in computer applications and instructional technology to aid interactive delivery of instruction and address daily school responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, create, and deliver curriculum objectives and competencies in accordance with the MA CTE ISSN Frameworks.
  • Ensure students master the knowledge and competencies necessary for the workplace and beyond.
  • Establish and maintain a professional classroom/shop environment emphasizing safety, mastery of knowledge and skills, and a strong work ethic.
  • Meet professional teaching responsibilities per teacher contract, including district, school and departmental goals, assess student progress, and communicate with colleagues, students, families, and clinical placements.
  • Provide advisory services and 8th Grade Night support.
  • Support the Director of CTE in the continual enhancement of the ISSN program.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Superintendent-Director.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Mainly school during the school day, with occasional after‑school meetings such as Back to School nights and advisory. Regular attendance is essential.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Walk, sit, talk, hear; bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, stand for long periods; lift up to 50 lbs; operate hand tools and motor equipment; possible confined spaces and exposure to dust, smoke fumes, and gases. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Ten‑month, school year position (183 days).
  • Initial salary will be established by the Superintendent‑Director in accordance with the Teachers’ Contract.
  • Fringe benefits as outlined in the Teachers’ Contract.
