Job summary

Newton Public School District, Newton, MA, seeks an Information Support Services & Networking Teacher to design and implement a new ISSN program for high school students in grades 9–12. The inaugural year focuses on curriculum development in collaboration with the CTE Director.

Qualifications

• Associate or higher degree related to ISSN.
• Four years of recent full-time employment experience directly related to ISSN within the last seven years.
• Passing score on ISSN tests.
• Passing score on Vocational Technical Literacy Skills or Communication and Literacy Skills Test.

Responsibilities

• Plan, create, and deliver curriculum objectives per MA CTE ISSN frameworks.
• Ensure students master the knowledge and competencies necessary for the workplace.
• Establish and maintain a professional classroom environment emphasizing safety and mastery.
• Meet professional teaching responsibilities per teacher contract, assess progress and communicate with families.
• Provide advisory services and 8th Grade Night support.
• Support the Director of CTE in the continual enhancement of the ISSN program.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Superintendent-Director.
