Job summary

Amgen in South San Francisco is seeking a Scientist, Integrated Computational and Experimental Inflammation Discovery. In this role you will design and execute wet-lab studies and apply computational and AI-enabled approaches to analyze omics data, advancing inflammation programs.

You will integrate insights with literature, genetics, and clinical observations, manage program components with minimal supervision, and communicate data-driven findings to guide project decisions.

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant field or equivalent research experience.
• Demonstrated wet-lab inflammation biology experience.
• Proficiency in Python or R for omics data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate project tasks supporting target identification and progression of inflammation discovery programs.
• Design, execute, analyze, and interpret bench/wet-lab studies to investigate inflammation biology.
• Apply computational and AI-enabled approaches to generate mechanistic insights and refine experimental design.
• Integrate experimental results with literature, genetics, clinical observations, and internal/external datasets.
• Develop and optimize solutions to complex problems within an emerging area of expertise.
• Collaborate across functions and departments to support project team goals.
• Organize and present data and scientific recommendations within groups and forums.
