Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Principal Scientist in Inflammation with expertise in combining experimental biology and AI/ML-driven computational approaches to accelerate discovery and development of therapies. The role involves integrating human data with literature and clinical observations to inform decisions and guide projects.

You will contribute to a culture of scientific curiosity, collaboration, and continuous learning while advancing programs in inflammation.

Qualifications

• PhD, PharmD, or MD with 2+ years in inflammation/immunology research
• Masters with 5+ years of industry experience in inflammation/immunology
• Bachelors with 7+ years of industry experience in inflammation/immunology

Responsibilities

• Apply AI/ML-driven computational approaches to generate mechanistic insights and guide experiments
• Design, execute, analyze, and interpret studies on disease mechanisms and therapeutic hypotheses
• Generate high-quality data to support target identification and progression of inflammation programs
• Integrate experimental results with literature, human genetics, and clinical observations for mechanistic insights
• Participate in discussions, target reviews, and portfolio evaluations with data-driven recommendations
• Present findings to project teams and governance forums
• Maintain documentation and contribute to knowledge sharing
• Support a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and operational excellence
