Job summary

Amgen in South San Francisco, CA is seeking a Scientist in Integrated Computational and Experimental Inflammation Discovery. You will plan and coordinate tasks, conduct bench studies, and apply AI-enabled approaches to deepen understanding of disease biology and guide target discovery.

The role requires advanced training in immunology/biology with strong data analysis skills and collaboration across teams to advance project decisions.

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree in a relevant field (Immunology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Pharmacology, Biomedical Sciences, Computational Biology, Bioengineering).
• Two years of experience with a Master’s degree or four years with a Bachelor’s in relevant disciplines.
• Strong knowledge of inflammation and immunology research basics and related scientific principles.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate defined project tasks supporting target identification and progression of inflammation discovery programs.
• Design, execute, analyze, and interpret bench/wet lab studies with scientific rigor.
• Apply computational, AI-enabled and data-analytic approaches to gain mechanistic insights.
• Integrate experimental results with literature and external data to inform project design.
• Collaborate across functions and present scientific recommendations within teams.
