Job summary

The Infectious Diseases/Antimicrobial Stewardship Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at Penn State Hershey Medical Center provides advanced clinical expertise in antimicrobial stewardship and infectious disease pharmacotherapy for adult and pediatric patients, collaborating with ID physicians, microbiology and infection prevention to optimize therapy.

Responsibilities include recommending drug, dose, route and duration based on patient factors and susceptibility, monitoring efficacy and toxicity, and

Qualifications

• Licensed or eligible to practice pharmacy in Pennsylvania.
• PGY-2 Infectious Disease residency with BCIDP required within 1 year.
• PGY-1 general practice residency + 3 years relevant experience and BCIDP required within 1 year.
• Six years relevant experience and BCIDP required within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced clinical expertise in antimicrobial stewardship and infectious disease pharmacotherapy for adult and pediatric patients.
• Collaborate with ID physicians, microbiology, and infection prevention to optimize antimicrobial use.
• Recommend drug, dose, route and duration based on patient factors and susceptibility; monitor efficacy and toxicity.
