Penn State Health - Hershey Medical Center is seeking an Infectious Diseases Antimicrobial Stewardship Pharmacy Specialist to provide advanced clinical expertise in antimicrobial stewardship and infectious disease pharmacotherapy for adults and children.

You will collaborate with infectious disease physicians, microbiology, and infection prevention teams to optimize antimicrobial use, recommend therapies, and monitor efficacy and toxicity, improving patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree Pharm D required.
• Must be licensed or eligible to practice pharmacy in Pennsylvania.
• PGY-2 Infectious Disease residency with BCIDP within 1 year of hire.
• PGY-1 general practice residency + 3 years of relevant experience and BCIDP within 1 year of hire.
• 6 years of relevant experience with BCIDP within 1 year of hire.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Infectious Diseases/Antimicrobial Stewardship Clinical Pharmacy Specialist provides advanced clinical expertise in antimicrobial stewardship and infectious disease pharmacotherapy services for both adult and pediatric populations. As a subject matter expert, this role collaborates with infectious disease physicians, microbiology, and infection prevention teams to optimize antimicrobial use and improve patient outcomes by assisting providers in optimizing antimicrobial therapy by recommending appropriate drug, dose, route, and duration based on patient factors and pathogen susceptibility and monitoring for efficacy and toxicity.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

• Doctorate degree Pharm D
• Must be licensed or eligible for licensure to practice pharmacy in the state of Pennsylvania.
• A PGY-2 Infectious Disease residency with BCIDP required within one (1) year of hiring
• A PGY-1 general practice residency + three (3) years of relevant experience and BCIDP required within one (1) year of hiring
• Six (6) years of relevant experience and BCIDP required within one (1) year of hiring
