Job summary

Midway Specialty Care is seeking a knowledgeable Medical Assistant to support both back-office clinical care and front-office patient services. You will perform phlebotomy, vital signs, specimen collection, and assist providers with procedures, while also handling registration, scheduling, and EMR documentation with strict HIPAA adherence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant training program preferred.
• Medical Assistant certification or registration preferred.
• Experience using electronic medical records and documenting patient information.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy clinical environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate, patient-centered approach.
• Ability to work on-site at one or more Midway locations within assigned region.
• Experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW).

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and prepare them for examinations; obtain vital signs and histories.
• Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection per protocol.
• Assist with examinations, treatments, and point-of-care testing.
• Support front-office: check-in/check-out, registration, scheduling, and demographics updates.
• Coordinate appointments, referrals, and communications between patients and providers.
• Maintain EMR documentation and ensure accuracy of patient records.
• Provide infection prevention and patient safety in all clinical activities.
• Travel to other Midway locations for regional coverage as needed.
• Collaborate with clinicians and staff to ensure smooth clinic operations.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
