Midway Specialty Care in Tampa, FL is seeking a designated Medical Assistant to support both back-office clinical care and front-office patient services. This on-site, full-time role includes phlebotomy, vital signs, room preparation, and EMR documentation to ensure efficient clinic operations and a seamless patient experience.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant training program preferred.
• Medical Assistant certification or registration preferred.
• Previous Medical Assistant experience in a physician practice, outpatient clinic, or healthcare setting preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs, clinical procedures, infection prevention, and patient care practices.
• Experience using electronic medical records and accurately documenting patient information.

Responsabilidades

• Welcome patients, prepare them for examinations and treatments, obtain and accurately document vital signs, medical histories, and other relevant clinical information, and assist providers with patient care activities.
• Perform venipuncture, blood draws, and other authorized specimen collection procedures following protocols.
• Assist providers with examinations, treatments, and approved point-of-care testing while maintaining safety and quality standards.
• Support patient check-in/check-out, registration, insurance updates, scheduling, and other administrative activities.
• Assist with appointment confirmations, follow-up scheduling, referrals, and communication between patients and care team.
• Accurately enter and maintain patient information and visit-related records in the EMR.
• Provide compassionate, nonjudgmental support to patients receiving HIV, hepatitis, STI, and other infectious disease services.
• Follow infection prevention, PPE, hand hygiene, and safety protocols to protect patients and staff.
• Maintain examination rooms, equipment, and supplies; monitor inventory and cleanliness.
• Transition between clinical and administrative tasks based on patient volume and needs.
• Provide clinical and administrative support at other Midway locations within the assigned region.
• Collaborate with providers, nurses, and staff to ensure quality care and HIPAA compliance.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
