Job summary
Lincoln Trail Behavioral Health System in Radcliff, KY seeks an Infection Preventionist/Staff Educator to lead infection surveillance, provide education, and support hospital training events in collaboration with the CNO. The role focuses on patient and staff safety, data collection, and ongoing nursing education across departments.
The ideal candidate holds a Kentucky nursing license, CPR/BLS, and prefers CIC certification.
Qualifications
- Current license to practice nursing in Kentucky.
- Current CPR or BLS certification.
- Desire to work in a psychiatric inpatient setting with patients of various ages.
- Preferred certification in Infection Prevention/Control (CIC).
Responsibilities
- Develops and maintains a method of identifying and recording known or suspected infections in patients and employees.
- Carries out periodic inspections to ensure that procedures for the control of infections are being followed correctly.
- Collects and maintains statistical data of value in the identification and control of infections.
- Assists with the development of education program pertaining to infection control within the hospital.
- Regularly facilitates and/or conducts required training classes with all staff.
- Works closely with the all departments to review current education and training needs.
- Recommends improvements to training programs as needed or as identified.
- Provides on-going RN Nursing Education to staff on a variety of topics as it directly relates to performance improvement initiatives, Joint Commission and other State or Federal Regulatory Agency standards/requirements.
