Job summary

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements an ongoing infection prevention and control program.
• Establishes facility-wide systems for the prevention, identification, reporting, investigation, and control of infections and communicable diseases.
• Oversees the facility’s antibiotic stewardship program.
• Leads the Infection and Prevention Control Committee with action plans for improvement.
• Participates on facility committees and performs duties as assigned.
• Implements annual infection control risk assessment and facility assessment reviews.
• Reviews and revises the infection prevention program to stay aligned with current standards.
• Provides education on infection prevention to staff, residents, and families.
• Ensures public health is notified of reportable diseases.
