Job summary

Optima Care Fountains is seeking an experienced Infection Preventionist / Staff Development Coordinator to support regulatory compliance, staff competency, and resident safety. The role focuses on assessing educational needs, planning and implementing training programs, and overseeing infection prevention and control practices across federal, state, and facility guidelines.

The position requires RN licensure in New Jersey and certification in infection prevention or equivalent, with a minimum of

Qualifications

• RN license in New Jersey required.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Certification in infection prevention and control (e.g., LTC-CIP, CIC) required or equivalent.
• Minimum of three (3) years of full-time nursing experience.
• Two (2) years of long-term care experience; management/administrative role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops and oversees infection prevention and control policies and procedures.
• Ensures compliance with infection control policies and regulatory requirements.
• Conducts infection control in-services and staff education programs.
• Plans and directs orientation programs and evaluates staff performance during onboarding.
• Assess staff education needs and develop in-service programs.
• Provide guidance on infection prevention standards to staff and residents.
