Job summary

Optima Care Fountains in New Jersey is seeking an experienced Infection Preventionist / Staff Development Coordinator to support regulatory compliance, staff competency, and resident safety.

This dual-role position is responsible for assessing staff educational needs; planning, developing, and implementing training programs; and overseeing infection prevention and control practices in accordance with federal, state, county and facility guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid RN license in New Jersey.
• Minimum three years of full-time clinical nursing experience.
• Two years in long-term care; supervisory experience preferred.
• Completion of specialized infection prevention training or certification.
• Annual attendance at an Infection Control Seminar required.

Responsibilities

• Develops and oversees infection prevention policies and procedures to prevent transmission of infectious diseases.
• Ensures compliance with infection control policies and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinates infection control in-services and educational programs for all staff.
• Plans and directs orientation programs for new employees; monitors staff performance.
• Assesses ongoing education needs and develops targeted in-service programs.
• Provides guidance on infection prevention standards to staff and residents.
