Job summary

Mountain View Post Acute in Washington State is seeking an Infection Control & Staff Development Coordinator (LPN/RN) to lead infection prevention, regulatory compliance, and staff education for residents and colleagues.

You will collaborate with the Director of Nursing and department leaders to monitor CDC/OSHA guidelines, coordinate training, TB care, and environmental safety, and ensure ongoing competency.

Qualifications

• Current, active, and unencumbered LPN or RN license in Washington State.
• Nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
• 2+ years of nursing experience preferred, preferably in long-term care.
• APIC certification in infection control is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of infection prevention, epidemiology, microbiology, infectious diseases, and aseptic technique.
• Current CPR certification.
• Commitment to continuing education and good standing with the Washington State Board of Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the facility’s infection prevention and control program.
• Monitor compliance with CDC, OSHA, state, and facility infection control requirements.
• Conduct rounds and monitor hand hygiene, aseptic technique, standard/universal precautions, and isolation practices.
• Track, investigate, document, and report resident and employee infections and communicable diseases.
• Collaborate with nursing leadership and the Infection Control Committee on infection trends, corrective actions, and prevention strategies.
• Support TB management, bloodborne pathogen prevention, employee health, and exposure follow-up.
• Assist departments with infection prevention practices related to cleaning, disinfection, sterilization, laundry, waste disposal, and environmental safety.
• Participate in facility surveys and inspections as needed.
