Mountain View Post Acute in Washington state seeks an Infection Control & Staff Development Coordinator (LPN/RN). You will lead the facility's infection prevention program, ensure compliance with CDC/OSHA and state requirements, and partner with Nursing leadership to protect residents and staff.

  • Conduct rounds, monitor hand hygiene, aseptic technique, precautions and isolation practices.
  • Document and report infections and communicable diseases.
  • Support TB management, bloodborne pathogens, and employee health.

Infection Control & Staff Development Coordinator – LPN/RNMountain View Post AcutePay Range: $35–$58 per hour, depending on license and experienceReports to: Director of NursingJoin Our Team!The ideal candidate is organized, knowledgeable, and passionate about creating a safe environment for residents and staff. This position works closely with the Director of Nursing, department leaders, employees, residents, and healthcare professionals to promote quality care, regulatory compliance, and a strong culture of safety.What You’ll DoInfection Prevention & ControlLead and coordinate the facility's infection prevention and control program.Monitor compliance with CDC, OSHA, state, and facility infection control requirements.Conduct rounds and monitor hand hygiene, aseptic technique, standard/universal precautions, and isolation practices.Track, investigate, document, and report resident and employee infections and communicable diseases.Collaborate with nursing leadership and the Infection Control Committee on infection trends, corrective actions, and prevention strategies.Support TB management, bloodborne pathogen prevention, employee health, and exposure follow-up.Assist departments with infection prevention practices related to cleaning, disinfection, sterilization, laundry, waste disposal, and environmental safety.Participate in facility surveys and inspections as needed.Staff Development & EducationDevelop, coordinate, and maintain effective orientation and training programs for new and existing employees.Provide education related to infection prevention, OSHA, CDC guidelines, bloodborne pathogens, TB management, hand hygiene, and other required topics.Collaborate with department leaders to identify training needs and support ongoing staff competency.Assist with annual and required in-service education programs.Promote a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and quality improvement.Clinical & Compliance SupportProvide consultation and clinical support regarding residents requiring isolation or infection control precautions.Participate in care planning and interdisciplinary collaboration as needed.Maintain accurate infection control, training, and employee education documentation.Provide reports and recommendations to the Director of Nursing and appropriate committees.Support compliance with applicable regulations, facility policies, and standards of practice.What We’re Looking ForCurrent, active, and unencumbered LPN or RN license in Washington State.Nursing degree from an accredited college or university.2+ years of nursing experience preferred, preferably in long-term care.Knowledge of infection prevention, epidemiology, microbiology, infectious diseases, and aseptic technique.Current CPR certification.Strong communication, organization, teaching, and critical-thinking skills.Ability to effectively educate and work with employees across multiple departments.APIC certification in infection control is preferred but not required.Knowledge and experience with PCC is preferred.Commitment to maintaining required continuing education and good standing with the Washington State Board of Nursing.Why Join Mountain View Post Acute?This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact beyond the bedside by helping protect our residents and staff while developing the knowledge and skills of our team.
