Kern Valley Health District seeks an Infection Preventionist to lead the IPCP across its facilities. The IP will plan, implement, and evaluate infection prevention, educate staff, and ensure CMS/OSHA compliance.

Collaboration with CDC, APIC, NHSN, and local health departments is required, with a focus on antimicrobial stewardship and patient safety across the district. A CA RN license and Infection Prevention Certificate are required, along with 2–5 years of nursing experience and strong

• Requires CA RN license and an Infection Prevention Certificate within one year.
• 2–5 years of nursing experience in varied areas.
• APIC membership and NHSN familiarity preferred.
• Working knowledge of epidemiology and microbiology in clinical settings.

Responsabilidades

• Direct and manage the infection prevention and control program across the district.
• Develop, implement and evaluate infection prevention policies and procedures.
• Educate hospital personnel and provide orientation and in-service training.
• Collaborate with CDC, APIC, NHSN, and health departments on guidelines.
• Identify, investigate, and report HAI data to committees and leadership.
• Participate in antimicrobial stewardship and collaborates with pharmacy and lab staff.
• Ensure compliance with CMS, OSHA and state regulations; lead outbreak investigations.
