Job summary

Emerald Healthcare in Lincoln, NE is seeking an Infection Prevention and Education Nurse to help reduce risk and educate staff on infection prevention measures.

The role requires an active RN or LPN license, CPR/BLS certification, and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team with strong communication skills. This is a full-time salaried position with benefits including medical, dental, vision, and paid PTO.

Qualifications

• Active RN or LPN license in Nebraska or a compact state.
• CPR/BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Quality Assurance, Safety, PIPs and other committees as required.
• Provide a safe working environment for staff members, promptly reporting any accidents and implement corrective and preventive action appropriately
• Participate in daily morning meetings.
• Provide education and coaching to nursing staff as needed to improve patient/resident outcomes.
• Complete Monthly if not more often audits and recordings of education, illnesses and immunizations for both staff and residents.
• Develop and maintain the nursing policies and procedures as needed.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Purpose of this position

The purpose of this position is to reduce risk to organization related to patient/resident care. The Infection Prevention and Education Nurse will be responsible for assisting with the oversight of educating all staff in addition to keeping track of the required Infection Prevention measures and illnesses.

Other necessary job functions

• Participate in Quality Assurance, Safety, PIPs and other committees as required.

• Participate in daily morning meetings.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse or License Practical Nurse with license in good standing in the state of Nebraska or any other Compact/Multi-state.
• Active CPR/BLS Required.
