Job summary

The Infection Prevention and Education Nurse role in Lincoln, NE focuses on reducing infection risk by educating staff and overseeing prevention measures across the facility.

Responsibilities include participating in QA and safety committees, coaching nursing staff, and developing nursing policies. Requires an active RN or LPN license in Nebraska, CPR/BLS, and strong communication in a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse with license in good standing in Nebraska or any other Compact/Multi-state.
• Active CPR/BLS Required.
• Experience with older adults in resident-centered care is preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
• Effective communication, maturity, flexibility and self-direction.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Quality Assurance, Safety, PIPs and other committees as required.
• Provide a safe working environment for staff members, promptly reporting any accidents and implement corrective and preventive action appropriately
• Participate in daily morning meetings.
• Provide education and coaching to nursing staff as needed to improve patient/resident outcomes.
• Complete Monthly if not more often audits and recordings of education, illnesses and immunizations for both staff and residents.
• Develop and maintain the nursing policies and procedures as needed.
• Additional duties as assigned.
