Job summary

Emerald Nursing Limited in Lincoln, NE is seeking an Infection Prevention and Education Nurse to lead staff education and oversee infection prevention measures to improve patient and resident safety.

You will participate in QA, Safety and PIP committees, maintain nursing policies, provide coaching to nursing staff, and complete monthly audits of illnesses and immunizations.

Qualifications

• Active RN or LPN license in Nebraska (or Compact/Multi-state).
• CPR/BLS certification active.
• Experience with older adults and resident-centered care is preferred.

Responsibilities

Infection Prevention and Education Nurse

Job Title: Infection Prevention and Education Nurse

Location: Lincoln, NE

Department: Nursing

Reports to: DON

Position Type: Full-time Salaried

Shifts Available: M-F, 8am-4:30pm, Hours may vary

Purpose of this position:

The purpose of this position is to reduce risk to organization related to patient/resident care. The Infection Prevention and Education Nurse will be responsible for assisting with the oversight of educating all staff in addition to keeping track of the required Infection Prevention measures and illnesses.

Other necessary job functions:

• Participate in Quality Assurance, Safety, PIPs and other committees as required.

• Provide a safe working environment for staff members, promptly reporting any accidents and implement corrective and preventive action appropriately

• Participate in daily morning meetings.

• Provide education and coaching to nursing staff as needed to improve patient/resident outcomes.

• Complete Monthly if not more often audits and recordings of education, illnesses and immunizations for both staff and residents.

• Develop and maintain the nursing policies and procedures as needed.

• Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Registered Nurse or License Practical Nurse with license in good standing in the state of Nebraska or any other Compact/Multi-state.

• Active CPR/BLS Required.
