Job summary

RegalCare at Holyoke is seeking a Staff Development/ Infection Control Nurse to lead infection control initiatives and elevate patient care standards. You will monitor care quality, develop infection control strategies, and collaborate with departments to train staff in best practices.

You will work closely with the nursing team to ensure staff receive the training and support needed to perform at their highest level, while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Staff Development/ Infection Control Nurse experience in long-term care or acute care preferred.
• Strong knowledge of infection control principles and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to work independently.
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided to patients, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
• Develop and implement infection control strategies, including policies and procedures.
• Conduct infection control surveillance, investigate outbreaks, and develop contingency plans for emergencies.
• Collaborate with other departments to educate and train staff on infection control practices.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
• Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies, managed care organizations, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
• Work closely with the nursing team to ensure staff receive necessary training and support.
