Job summary

The GEO Group, Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse, Coordinator of Infection Disease (CID) to support infection control across the facility. You will plan, implement, and evaluate infection control programs in coordination with the Health Administrator.

Ideal candidates hold an RN license with 2+ years of nursing experience, especially in infection control, and can work independently while maintaining patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an approved program; graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
• Current, unrestricted RN license in the state where the facility is located.
• Two years of direct RN experience preferred.
• Competence in annual physical assessments, TB evaluation, HIV/hepatitis/STD care.
• Knowledge of data collection techniques for reporting practices.
• Proficient in oral and written communication.
• Ability to develop and present educational teaching.
• Ability to work without direct supervision in nursing diagnosis and treatment.
• Ability to work with computers and department software.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must be a US citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident.

Responsibilities

• The CID RN applies nursing skills in care and treatment of inmates with infectious disease.
• Monitors patients with infectious disease.
• Executes physician orders.
• Assists the physician in exams and treatment.
• Documents and reports infectious diseases monthly and quarterly to Health Administrator.
• Develops reporting to the Public Health Department.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary healthcare team members.
• Maintains compliance with policies for accreditation.
• Documents detainee contacts and maintains confidentiality of medical records.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
