Job summary

GEO Corrections & Detentions seeks a Registered Nurse, Coordinator of Infection Disease (CID) to lead infection control activities across the facility. You will coordinate programs to meet contract and accreditation requirements while delivering high-quality nursing care to inmates with infectious diseases.

The role requires RN licensure in the state, 2+ years of RN experience preferred, and strong skills in TB/HIV/Hepatitis care, data reporting, and education within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• RN degree from an accredited school; current US RN license.
• 2 years of direct RN experience preferred.
• Competence in annual physical assessments and TB/HIV/Hepatitis care.
• Knowledge of data collection/reporting practices.
• Strong oral and written communication.
• Ability to educate and present to staff.
• Ability to work independently and with computers.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for inmates with infectious diseases.
• Monitor patients with infectious diseases and execute physician orders.
• Assist physicians in exams and treatments.
• Document infectious diseases for monthly/quarterly health reports.
• Develop reports for Public Health Department.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Maintain confidentiality of medical records.
