Job summary

The GEO Group is seeking a Registered Nurse, Coordinator of Infection Disease (CID) to manage infection prevention and control across the facility. You will coordinate programs to meet contract and accreditation standards while providing expert nursing care to inmates with infectious diseases.

Responsibilities include monitoring patients, assisting physicians, reporting to health authorities, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Must have current, unrestricted RN license in the state.
• Two years direct RN experience preferred.
• Competence in annual physicals, TB evaluations, HIV, Hep A/B/C, and STDs.
• Knowledge of data collection for reporting practices.
• Proficient in oral and written communication.
• Ability to develop and present educational teaching.
• Ability to work without direct supervision.
• Ability to work with computers and health dept. software.

Responsibilities

• Applies nursing skills in care and treatment of inmates with infectious disease.
• Monitors patients with infectious disease.
• Executes physician orders.
• Assists the physician in exams and treatment.
• Documents and reports infectious diseases monthly and quarterly to Health Administrator.
• Develops reporting to the Public Health Department.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary healthcare team members.
• Maintains compliance with policies for accreditation.
• Documents detainee contacts; maintains confidentiality of medical records.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
