Job summary

The GEO Group is seeking a Registered Nurse, Coordinator of Infection Disease (CID) to join our facility in Hudson, Colorado. The CID will prevent and control infectious disease across the facility and coordinate programs to meet contract and accreditation requirements.

Key duties include applying nursing skills to treat inmates with infectious disease, monitoring affected patients, executing physician orders, and reporting to health authorities.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the state of the facility.
• Two (2) years of direct RN experience preferred.
• Competence in annual physical assessments, TB evaluation, HIV/hepatitis care, and STDs treatment.
• Proficient in oral and written communication; capable of educational teaching.

Responsibilities

• Apply nursing skills in care and treatment of inmates with infectious disease.
• Monitor patients with infectious disease and execute physician orders.
• Assist physician in exams and treatment; document infections in monthly/quarterly reports.
• Develop reporting to Public Health Department and maintain confidentiality of medical records.
