Job summary

YMCA of Greater Hartford is seeking an Assistant Teacher for Infant & Toddler care in Glastonbury, CT. The role supports the Lead Teacher with classroom supervision, curriculum implementation, and safety compliance in a busy early childhood setting.

Ideal candidates bring knowledge of infant and toddler development, a warm, patient demeanor, and preferably bilingual Spanish/English skills. This part-time position involves light manual labor and pre-school activities.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of infant and toddler development and early learning standards.
• Warm and nurturing personality; patience and adaptability.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.
• Minimum two years of early childhood experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Teacher in daily classroom supervision, including outdoor play.
• Help implement developmentally appropriate curriculums and timely forms.
• Document attendance and meal counts for CACFP/USDA.
• Maintain an Anecdotal Log and safe, clean classroom environment.
• Uphold YMCA values and confidentiality; supervise children and visitors.
