Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Hartford is seeking a Toddler Full Time Teacher Assistant in Glastonbury, CT. You will assist the Head Teacher in infant and toddler classrooms, support daily activities, and help with playground supervision in a safe, caring environment.

Ideal candidates have knowledge of early childhood development, a warm, nurturing demeanor, and may be bilingual in Spanish and English. Two years of early childhood experience is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of infant and toddler development; knowledge of Early Childhood Education, School Readiness and Connecticut standards.
• Warm and nurturing personality.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.
• Must be able to work in preschool classroom.
• Two years of early childhood experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Teacher in daily classroom supervision, including outdoor play activities.
• Promote equity and an anti-racist lens within the classroom and YMCA culture.
• Assist in curriculum development and submission of forms and reports.
• Use child development knowledge to plan for individual children.
• Supervise parents and other classroom visitors.
• Assist with drills and safety procedures.
• Prepare materials, attendance, and CACFP/USDA reports.
