Job summary

White Birch Center in Henniker, NH is hiring an Infant Teacher for our full-time Infant 1 classroom (birth to 1 year). You will nurture infants, support growth, and collaborate with a caring teaching team.

Ideal candidates are 18+, have licensed childcare experience, and understand NH licensing rules. The role requires strong communication with families, adherence to policies, and ongoing professional development (18 hours/year).

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years old or older.
  • Previous experience with infants in licensed childcare or early education setting.
  • Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice and NH licensing rules.
  • Pass NH Criminal Background Check and DCYF Central Registry Check.
  • Health form completed by a health practitioner prior to hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a safe, warm, and engaging environment for infants to grow and thrive.
  • Support developmental milestones through age-appropriate activities and play.
  • Build trusting relationships with children and their families through open communication.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and nurturing classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with the teaching team and support center goals and curriculum vision.
  • Ensure compliance with NH licensing rules and White Birch Center policies.
  • Guide children using positive behavior strategies.
  • Plan and implement curriculum aligned with Teaching Strategies GOLD and portfolios.
  • Stay current with training requirements and complete 18 PD hours annually.

About This Role

White Birch Center, a progressive early education center located in Henniker, is seeking a passionate and dedicated Infant Teacher to join our full-time Infant 1 classroom. This position involves working with children ranging from 6 weeks to 1 year old, fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment that supports each child's growth and development. At White Birch Center, our vision is to enrich lives and strengthen community and our Early Learning Program is at the heart of that mission. The ideal candidate would be able to work with children all ages, but more specifically ages birth to 1 year old. The ideal person must be kind, patient, dependable, responsible, and should have experience working with children. What You'll Do

  • Ensure compliance with all licensing regulations and White Birch Center policies.
  • Supervise, engage with, and guide children using positive behavior strategies and the "good inside" approach.
  • Plan and implement curriculum aligned with Teaching Strategies GOLD, including individualized assessments and portfolios.
  • Follow all White Birch Center policies and NH Child Care Licensing Rules, while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Stay current with training requirements, completing a minimum of 18 professional development hours annually.
  • Represent White Birch Center positively in all settings, supporting our mission to enrich lives and strengthen community.
Requirements

Must have:

  • Must be 18 years old or older.
  • Previous experience working with infants in a licensed childcare or early education setting.
  • Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice in early childhood, the NH Child Care Licensing Rules
  • Strong understanding of infant development and a passion for early childhood education.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a teaching team.
Educational Requirements and Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of 9 Early Childhood Education college credits from a regionally accredited college or university OR at least 3 credits in child growth and development and documentation of 1000 hours working within a Licensed Early Childhood Center.
  • Minimum of one year's experience working with children in an early childhood environment. Experience with young infants highly preferred.
  • Must be able to successfully pass an NH Criminal Background Check and a DCYF Central Registry Check.
  • Must have a Child Care health form completed by a health practitioner indicating the ability to work with children upon hire.
Nice To Haves
  • Current First Aid and Infant, Child and Adult CPR certification.
  • Be able to obtain, a NH ECE Professional Development Credential as a Lead Teacher Level 1 or higher.
