Job summary

Magical Beginnings Inc in Plymouth, MA is seeking an Infant Teacher to join our early childhood education team. You will collaborate with a co-teacher to provide warm, developmentally appropriate care for infants aged 6 weeks to 15 months and to support growth milestones in a nurturing classroom.

We require EEC Infant/Toddler Certification and 1–2 years’ experience with infants; CPR/First Aid is preferred. The role includes engaging families, maintaining safety, and contributing to curriculum

Qualifications

  • Must have EEC Infant/Toddler Certification.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of professional experience with infants (6 weeks–15 months).
  • CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Support lead teacher in preparing curriculum, lesson plans, and materials.
  • Provide responsive, individualized care to infants.
  • Communicate with families and build positive relationships.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly classroom environment.
  • Assist with daily routines (bottles, meals, diapering, naptime) tailored to each infant's schedule.
  • Track children’s progress and complete required assessments; maintain PQ registry hours.

Experienced Infant Teachers—we'd love to meet you! We're seeking an early childhood educator with prior professional experience caring for and educating infants ages 6 weeks–15 months. In this role, you'll partner with a co-teacher to provide warm, responsive care, support developmental milestones, and create a safe, nurturing classroom environment. We're looking for someone who is confident in an infant classroom and brings a genuine passion for helping our youngest learners grow and thrive.

You'll thrive in this role if you have:
  • EEC Infant/Toddler Certification required
  • A nurturing demeanor and a love for infants and their development
  • Minimum 1–2 years of professional experience working with infants, preferably in a licensed early childhood education setting.
  • Experience working with children 6 weeks–15 months required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Early Childhood Education, CDA, or a related degree/coursework preferred.
  • Strong understanding of infant development, responsive caregiving, and age-appropriate classroom practices.
  • Experience maintaining a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate infant classroom.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with families and collaborate with Lead Teachers and other classroom staff.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain upon hire.
  • Must successfully complete all required EEC background checks and suitability requirements.
  • Commitment to maintaining required EEC training and professional development.
Some requirements of the role include:
  • Flexibility to work an 8-hour shift within the operating hours of the school, including opening and closing shifts
  • Ability to spend extended periods of time on the floor with the children
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Ability to stand up to 90% of the workday
  • Attentiveness, strong time management, and a team-focused mindset
As an Infant Teacher, you will be responsible for:
  • Supporting your lead teacher in preparing curriculum, lesson plans, and materials
  • Providing responsive, individualized care that supports each infant's development through gentle, age-appropriate activities
  • Keeping parents informed and building positive relationships with children and families
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly classroom environment
  • Assisting with daily routines, including bottles, meals, diapering, and naptime, tailored to each infant's individual feeding and sleeping schedule
  • Supporting your lead teacher in tracking children's progress and completing required assessmentsMaintaining your EEC-required professional development hours and PQ registry (if applicable)
  • Helping infants build a sense of security, trust, and early communication skills
