Job summary

Acquire4Hire in Vermont seeks a Lead Infant Teacher for our youngest classroom (6 weeks to 1 year). You will lead and manage the classroom, foster a caring atmosphere for children and families, and create a safe, developmentally appropriate learning environment focused on school readiness.

The role emphasizes daily observation of development, collaboration with staff and parents, and overseeing hygiene areas, diapering and personal care while promoting self-confidence and early problem solving.

Qualifications

  • Experience caring for children.
  • Vermont Early Childhood career ladder Level three.
  • 21 college credits in related field and 12 months experience.

About This Role

We are in search for a Lead Infant Teacher to join our youngest infant classroom (ages 6 weeks to 1 year). If you are someone who loves to teach and enrich children’s ability to learn, we are interested in talking to you!

What You’ll Do
  • Leading and managing a classroom
  • Developing a caring, supportive atmosphere for children and their parents
  • Providing an effective learning environment within the classroom with the focus on school readiness skills
  • Ensure the safety of each child enrolled in the class whether in the classroom, on the playground, or in common areas
  • Maintain regular observation and evaluation of children's development and progress as directed by Center Director and Behavior Specialist
  • Maintain responsibility on a daily basis for the ordered arrangement, appearance, decor, and cleanliness of the learning environment of the classroom
  • Create safe and appropriate diapering, toileting, and handwashing areas and help children with all personal hygiene skills
  • Plan and implement age and developmentally appropriate classroom practices that will include the areas of physical, emotional, social and cognitive needs of young children
  • Encourage children's development in the areas of building self-confidence, problem solving, and taking responsibility for their actions
  • Interact with each child on a daily basis through circle time, centers, snacks, lunchtime, playground, free play, etc.
  • Nurture positive relationships with parents and establish continual communication
  • Collaborating with other teachers and staff to support each classroom and individual child's needs
  • Other duties as assigned by your supervisor
Requirements
  • At least 20 years old
  • Vermont Early Childhood career ladder Level three
  • Associate degree in related field (early childhood, human services, etc.)
  • 21 college credits in related field and 12 months experience
  • Experience caring for children
