Job summary

Lionheart Children's Academy seeks an Assistant Teacher to support the classroom team in delivering Christ-centered care and instruction for children. You will work under Academy Leadership and with Lead Teachers to maintain a nurturing, safe environment that reflects Lionheart’s mission.

This role emphasizes teamwork, faith-based values, and professional growth in early childhood education and ministry. The position may involve assisting multiple classrooms and participating in events.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age and a high school diploma or GED is required.
• Meets all state minimum standards and qualifications for an Early Childhood Assistant Teacher.
• Previous licensed child care experience is preferred but not required.
• Alignment with Lionheart’s mission and values is essential.
• Criminal background check is required.
• Spiritual alignment with Christ-centered values is expected.

Responsibilities

• Model Christ-centered values through interactions and daily practices.
• Assist with setup, supervision, and facilitation of classroom learning centers and routines.
• Partner with the Lead Teacher to ensure smooth daily operations and a joyful classroom culture.
• Communicate proactively with staff regarding classroom needs and child updates.
• Demonstrate flexibility in assisting other classrooms or academy-wide needs.
• Participate in staff meetings, required trainings, and academy events.
• Greet families warmly and maintain positive, Christ-centered relationships.
• Provide basic daily communication to Lead Teacher or Academy Leadership.
• Support housekeeping tasks and restocking supplies as needed.
• Uphold Lionheart’s policies, mission, and safety standards.
