Job summary

The NYC Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC) seeks an Industry and Market Analyst to join the newly created Industry Accountability unit. You will research and analyze market trends across taxi and for-hire sectors, conduct investigations of driver complaints, and inform regulatory, enforcement, and policy efforts to strengthen worker protections.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical or design-related field + 4+ years’ experience or
• Associate degree + 6+ years’ experience or
• Bachelor’s degree + 8+ years’ experience or
• Equivalency accepted for the above pathways

Responsibilities

• Support the Executive Director in analyzing market conditions, regulatory compliance, oversight structures, investigations, industry data, and policy impacts.
• Develop audits, market analyses, and investigations of industry practices across taxis, Uber, Lyft, and TLC-regulated businesses to identify drivers’ earnings and conditions impacts.
• Create and maintain financial models and forecasts for TLC-regulated industries to inform market trends and interventions.
• Translate economic findings into memoranda, reports, and presentations for senior leadership.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external experts to achieve unit objectives and goals.
• Complete special assignments and projects as directed by senior management.
