Job summary

The New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC) seeks an Executive Director to establish and lead the new Industry Accountability unit, researching market trends across taxi and for-hire sectors. The role involves investigations and addressing driver concerns to strengthen protections and dignity in the industry.

Reporting to the Assistant Commissioner, the Executive Director will collaborate with drivers, fleet operators, and financial partners to guide enforcement and policy initiatives

Qualifications

• Experience in policy implementation or regulatory oversight.
• Strong data analysis and research capabilities.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead the Industry Accountability team with expertise in finance, market analysis, and policy analysis.
• Direct audits, investigations, and data reviews to identify trends affecting drivers’ earnings and conditions.
• Translate findings into enforcement, rulemaking, or policy changes to protect drivers and promote accountability.
• Engage with internal teams and external industry experts to achieve unit objectives and improve regulatory outcomes.
• Identify emerging patterns and discriminatory practices to inform regulatory interventions.
