Selby Jennings is seeking an Investment Banking Associate to join its Industrials team in Chicago. The role involves executing M&A, strategic advisory, and financing transactions with lean deal teams and high accountability.

The associate will work closely with senior bankers and client management, develop complex financial models, and contribute to deal pitches and client engagements in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of investment banking experience or MBA preferred.
• Strong financial modeling and valuation skills.
• Prior M&A and sell-side advisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day project management and execution across M&A, advisory, and financing transactions.
• Develop and oversee complex financial models, valuation analyses, and corporate finance scenarios.
• Evaluate potential M&A and financing opportunities through company, industry, and market analysis.
• Perform valuation analysis using DCF, comparable companies, and precedent transactions.
• Conduct financial, operational, and commercial due diligence.
• Prepare transaction materials including pitch books, teasers, information memoranda, and management presentations.
• Analyze company financial statements, projections, and industry trends.
• Support deal pitches with idea generation and strategic analysis.
• Interact with senior bankers and clients to provide strategic and financial advice.
