Job summary

DMC Recruitment is partnering with a Canadian forest products company to identify a driven Sales Representative to grow its industrial wood products business across the Northeastern United States and Ontario. The role emphasizes building relationships, expanding market share, and taking ownership of a remote territory.

You’ll focus on rig matting, access mats, crane mats, utility poles and other industrial wood products used in construction, utilities, infrastructure, mining and related sectors.

Qualifications

• Experience in sales or business development within industrial products, lumber, forestry, construction or a related sector.
• Understanding of rig matting, access mats, crane mats or other industrial wood products would be a strong asset.
• Ability to identify new customers, projects and market opportunities.
• Strong relationship-building skills and a proactive approach to developing new business.
• Existing network within the Northeastern U.S. or Ontario industrial markets would be an asset.
• Ability to work independently and manage a territory remotely.
• Willingness to travel approximately one-third of the time.

Responsibilities

• Develop new business throughout the Northeastern U.S. and Ontario, with a focus on expanding market share.
• Identify opportunities for rig matting, access mats, crane mats, utility poles and other industrial wood products.
• Build relationships with contractors, utility companies, industrial customers, distributors and infrastructure companies.
• Identify upcoming projects, public tenders and opportunities to introduce the company's products.
• Develop and manage a sales pipeline while building long-term customer relationships.
• Prepare quotes, proposals and presentations based on customer and project requirements.
• Work closely with internal logistics, procurement and operations teams to ensure customers are supported from initial inquiry through delivery.
• Travel throughout the territory to meet customers, visit projects and develop new business.
