Job summary

West Fraser is seeking a remote territory sales specialist based in Minnesota to support customers and promote wood products across surrounding states. You will act as a technical resource, build relationships with pro-dealers, builders, and industrial customers, and support regional marketing plans.

The role requires 2–5 years in construction or building materials, a related degree or equivalent experience, and strong communication, planning, and MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience in marketing, sales, construction, or building products.
• 2–5 years of experience in home construction, building materials, sales, marketing, or a related field.
• Knowledge of construction and building materials.
• Strong planning, organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to gather, summarize, and report observations on product usage, trends, and competitive activity within the assigned geography
• Excellent verbal and written communication, including presentation skills
• Strong technical aptitude and people skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

• Establishing, managing, and maintaining customer relationships by ensuring excellent service and follow-up and by learning and supporting the customers’ business
• Supporting the design and implementation of regional marketing programs with key pro-dealers, retail accounts, and builders that align with corporate sales and marketing objectives
• Promoting new and existing products to contractor yards and builders
• Developing product and program knowledge to support customers and internal teams in the marketplace
• Build and maintain relationships with key pro-dealers, retail accounts, builders, and industrial customers
• Provide responsive service, proactive follow-up, and continued learning about customer business models
• Serve as a knowledgeable field representative and customer resource within the marketplace
• Partner closely with inside sales, sales management, and marketing teams to achieve revenue objectives
• Collaborate with the outside marketing team and support staff to share information and coordinate territory activities
• Provide input to territory planning discussions and sales and marketing initiatives
