Job summary

The City of Oxnard's Wastewater Division seeks a Wastewater Treatment Plant Electrician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical systems across treatment facilities and collection infrastructure.

Under supervision, you will install and service MCCs, VFDs, switchgear, control equipment, and standby generators, reading schematics and ensuring code compliance. You will collaborate with operations and maintenance staff and participate in on-call and emergency response.

Qualifications

• Requires four years journey-level experience in industrial electrical maintenance.
• Experience with wastewater treatment or similar industrial environment is preferred.
• Knowledge of NEC and electrical codes and safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on industrial electrical systems.
• Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain motors, MCCs, VFDs, switchgear, and related equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints; install conduit and terminate conductors.
• Diagnose electrical failures using standard testing equipment and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain safety procedures including LOTO, arc flash, confined space entries.
