Job summary

The City of Watsonville is seeking an Environmental Compliance Inspector to enforce federal, state, and local pretreatment and wastewater regulations across industrial and commercial discharges. Under general supervision, you will inspect facilities, collect samples, manage data, and coordinate with multiple agencies.

The role requires CWEA Grade I certification within 12 months, a California driver's license, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of federal, state and local pretreatment and wastewater regulations.
• Experience inspecting industrial/commercial facilities and collecting samples.
• Ability to prepare reports and communicate findings clearly to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Inspect industrial and commercial waste water sources for compliance.
• Collect samples and operate sampling equipment.
• Maintain records and prepare technical reports.
• Enforce permit requirements and assist with enforcement procedures.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies and internal departments.
• Assist in MS4 permit compliance and stormwater monitoring.
