Charleston Water System is seeking an Industrial Pretreatment Program & Laboratory Manager in Charleston, SC. The role oversees the Industrial Waste Pretreatment Program and the Environmental Resources laboratory, ensuring regulatory compliance, data management, and training across teams.

The position requires a BS in a related science, a state license within 2 years, and 3+ years of lab experience in wastewater treatment, with responsibilities spanning budgeting, reporting, and ISO 14001

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or related discipline.
• S.C. Biological Wastewater Treatment Operator License within 2 years of hire.
• Minimum 1 year of industrial pretreatment experience with regulatory knowledge.
• Minimum 3 years of progressive laboratory experience in wastewater treatment including QA/QC and environmental analyses.

Responsabilités

• Supervise ER laboratory personnel and payroll per CWS policies.
• Submit budgets for IWPP and Process Lab requirements.
• Maintain knowledge of applicable regulations and permit reporting.
• Ensure compliance with DHEC/EPA monitoring and reporting for NPDES/IWPP.
• Oversee IWPP permitting, inspections, sampling, and regulatory reporting.
• Ensure Laboratory Certification compliance for field parameters.
• Assist with ISO 14001 documentation and related SOPs.
• Support daily laboratory activities and respond to emergencies.
