Job summary

Austin Industrial is seeking an experienced Timekeeper at our Lake Charles, LA location to administer weekly payroll and verify time reports. The role supports cost control, data reconciliation, and payroll processing in an industrial setting.

You will handle daily payroll tasks, assist with sign-ups and general administration, and contribute to monthly closing statements and cost reporting. Strong MS Office skills and payroll experience are essential; a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Must have strong experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook.
• 4+ years direct experience in a Timekeeping role with payroll.
• Must have good communication skills and time management skills.
• Experience in an industrial environment preferred.
• Valid Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Administer and prepare weekly payroll and verify time reports to ensure accuracy.
• Prepare controls and merge with other data required for preparation of payroll.
• Prepare control documents for reconciling payroll, payables, and receivables.
• Prepare the preparation of pay estimates, cost reports, etc.
• Assist with new employee sign ups, basic personnel administration activities, and general administration.
• Assist with preparation of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual closing statements, reports and invoices.
• Assist with monitoring subcontractor cost and issuance of back charges.
• Distribute payroll.
• Train new payroll employees.
