Job summary

Altorfer Inc. in Addison, IL, is seeking a Commercial Shop Service Advisor to be the primary customer contact and coordinate service activities from the initial repair request through job completion and invoicing.

Working closely with technicians, PSSRs and management, you will develop repair estimates, communicate recommendations and status, manage work orders, and ensure accurate invoicing across industrial and marine engines, equipment, trucks, and generator systems.

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial or marine engine service or related equipment.
• Experience reviewing service reports and preparing repair estimates.
• Experience with work order management, scheduling, CRM, and invoicing.
• Technical knowledge of common equipment systems and labor requirements.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple work orders and deadlines.
• Proficient with computers including Outlook and Excel.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Review technician findings and prepare estimates with technicians and management.
• Verify parts, labor, and costs align with requirements and profitability.
• Respond to customer inquiries and document concerns.
• Obtain customer approval of estimates and changes before work proceeds.
• Communicate repair details and status to customers and PSSRs.
• Coordinate with the Service Manager on scheduling and priorities.
• Apply extended warranty information and assist with payment processing.
• Review completed work orders and coordinate invoicing.
• Identify improvements for estimates, documentation, and workflow.
• Other duties as assigned.
